SAG Awards 2011 Fashion Recap

   The hottest celebs walked the red carpet on the 17th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, held on the 30th of January.
   Stars of the big and the small screen stunned in glamorous designer gowns and precious jewelry, sliding on stylish sky-high heels. Most of our favorite starlets looked fabolous in spring designs and gorgeous make-up. As always, there were some less fortunate looks, but overall the fashion chices at the awards were a success.
   The beauties who showed off their growing baby bumps, including Natalie Portman and Jane Krakowski, did surprisingly well and managed to look chic. 

•    Fashion Trends: embellishments, nudes and whites, flowy strapless dresses.
•    Top Designers: Oscar de la Renta, Monique Lhuillier, Fendi.
•    Beauty Trends: sleek updos, plauful weavy hair, softly smoked eyes, nude lips.

"Most Wanted" Celebrity Portraits by Richard Phillips

  Kristen Steward:
 “I think the easiest one right off the bat was Kristen because of her relationship with Pattinson; plus, New Moon and Twilight were such a success"

   Today everybody is obsessed with celebrities - they are literally everywhere: on the TV, on billboards, in magazines. That cultural phenomenon inspired the hyper-realist artist Richard Phillips to create a collection of 10 portraits depicting some of the currently most popular stars.
   The"Most Wanted" exhibition, displayed in the White Cube in London, features the Twilight pair Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, their co-worker Dakota Fanning, Leonardo Dicaprio, Zac Efron, Justin Timberlake, Gossip Girl stars Taylor Momsen and Chace Crawford along with singers Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift.
   Painted on a backdrop of luxury fashion logos such as Versace and Gucci, the exhibition sets out to show the relationship between celebrity, fashion and its audience.

 Dakota Fanning: 

"She has a very innocent look and should be the one you feel the most relaxed with because of the feelings she evokes. But the Dakota Fanning image scares me the most.”

   
Here is what the painter himself revealed about his artwork:
   "The Most Wanted exhibition conveys the irreducible condition that our notion of contemporary culture has reached, where all forms of artistic endeavour must submit to the dominant presence of celebrity endorsement and luxury brand legitimisation through sponsorship in order to sustain and safeguard its existence. 
   The large-scale, traditionally-painted portraits of the stars set against fashion logo step-and-repeat backdrops form an uncannily humanised version of this primary economic realism.”

Must See! Prada Spring/Summer 2011 Video Campaign

   We already showed you the photo ads of Prada's Spring/Summer 2011 collection, shot by Steven Meisel, and now the video campaign has been released.
   It's even better than the photos and again features models Arizona Muse, Kinga Rajzak, Zuzanna Bijoch, Mariacarla Boscono and Tati Cotliar. They work the fabulous designs while dancing to a cool beat. 
   You simply can't miss it!

Vogue Russia Channels The Black Swan

 The 5-category Oscar nominated movie "Black Swan" serves as inspiration for the "Drama & Ballet" editorial in Vogue Russia's February 2011 isuse.

   The goreous Czech model Denisa Dvorakova partners with real gracious ballerinas and pose on on the stage and behind the curtain of an actual ballet theatre.

   The beauty show of looks frim the collections of Dolce & Gabbana, Givenchy, Valentino and more.

   The photos are lensed by Jason Schmidt and  styled by Olga Dunina.

Paris and Justin by Terry Richardson & More Hot Covers

   No, this is not fan art. Vogue Turkey really put Paris Hilton on the cover of it's February 2011 issue. The scandalous starlet is lensed by the controversial photographer Terry Richardson. 
   Paris actually tweeted a photo with him on set. She said: " Here's a pic of me and Terry Richardson on set of my Vogue cover shoot! Love him! :)".


   LOVE magazine also had their Spring/Summer issue's cover shot by Terry. He lensed the teenage sensation Justin Bieber.
  The cover is tagged “The Beautiful One” and this happens to be their ‘androgyny issue’, in which we saw Kate Moss making out with the transsexual model Lea Tisci.
   Do you think Terry meant something by choosing Bieber for that particular issue or is it a coincidence?

   The Spring/Summer 2011 campaign by Givenchy is one of the most creative and controversial this season. 

   Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott, who also shot the spring ads of DSquared2, Miu Miu and Calvin Klein, once again show their talent shooting the models Natasha Poly, Mariacarla Boscono, Iris Strubegger, Jonathan Marquez, Daphne Groeneveld, Saskia de Brauw, Pablo Otero and Stephen Thompson.

   Panos Yiapanis did the styling.

Emmy Rossum Graces Vegas Magazine

   Emmy Rossum is the covergirl the February 2011 issue of Vegas Magazine. The "Shameless" actress looks beautiful wearing a 'Felicia' 3D lace rosea dress form Stella McCartney's Resort 2011 Collection.
  "The Lady is a Tramp" shoot is lensed by Thomas Whiteside and styled by Lee Harris. Emmy switches her good-girl image up with a more playful looks.

   The french beauty Clémence Poésy looks absolutely gorgeous in the February 2011 issue of Marie Claire US.

   The "Harry Potter" actress does chic spring looks wearing Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs, D&G, Michal Kors and more high end brands.

   The "Poésy" shoot is lensed by Tesh and styled by Isabel Dupré.

   Clémence, who recently played Chuck's new love interest in Gossip Girl, is currently filming the French movie "Jeanne Captive", where she's got the main part of Jeanne d'Arc.

   The new ads for Donna Karan's DKNY fragrance feature the cute real-life model couple Anja Rubik and Sasha Knezevic.

  The pair, which met while modeling and often works together, has recently confirmed their engagement.

Jennifer Lopez Covers Glamour Russia

   Jennifer Lopez is the covergirl of the February 2011 issue of the Russian edition of Glamour magazine.

  The cover is a reprint of the one used for the august issue of Glamour US and features the singer/actress wearing a Dolce & Gabbana Leopard Print Bodysuit from their Fall 2010 collection.

  The painter John Currin (husband to another of Ford’s presentation muses, the artist Rachel Feinstein) interviews Tom, who freely talks about his idea of beauty, sexuality, his movie, fashion  and more.

  Prada has released beautiful watercolour art as a part of their Spring/Summer 2011 Eyewear campaign. The brand's “Minimal Baroque” collection inspired the illustrations done by the artists Ivo Bisignano, Marcela Gutierrez and Andrea Tarella.

Desigual by Christian Lacroix Fall/Winter 2012 Collection

Desigual has released a preview of the Lacroix collection.

  The Spanish brand Desigual, known for it's unique patchwork designs, has announced a collaboration with the Christian Lacroix.
  The French designer is ready with the Fall/Winter 2011/2012 collection for the brand, which includes 30 garments incorporating Lacroix's haute couture and the urban and casual Desigual  prêt-à-porter:
  Both sides are happy with the result and plan to continue their partnership for a
Spring/Summer 2012 collection.
  Considering the amazing growth in Desigual's sales and Lacroix reputation, this collaboration will be hugely successful and definately something to look forward to.

   DSquared2 presents us with an elegant black & white campaign for it's Spring/Summer 2011 collection.

  The subtly sexy ads feature one of the most-wanted models, Crystal Renn, along with Hailey Clauson, Fei Fei Sun, Anna Jagodzinska and Monica Sawicka.

  Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott, who recently shot Sasha Pivovarova for Miu Miu, lensed the stylish ads.

Leighton Meester Gets Palyful In Nylon Magazine

  Leighton Meester is everywhere, it seems. She breaks a record appearing on the cover of Nylon magazine's February 2011 issue, which is the third magazine she covers that month. Glamour and Seventeen also chose the actress to shine on their front page.

  And not only does the beauty appears in magazines, but also in fashion and beauty ads plus red caped events such as "The Roommate" premiere.

   Gorgeous, luxurious colors, glowing faces and twelve different, yet fabulous personalities describe the new calendar of the famous American makeup brand Maybelline. 

    This is the third year in a row when Maybelline New York releases a limited edition calendar containing spectacular, colorful photos that draw their inspiration from the cosmopolitanism specific to the beautiful NYC lifestyle. 

   Models Erin Wasson, Julia Stegner, Emily DiDonato, Jessica White, Shui Pei-Qin, Lisalla Montenegro and Charlotte Kemp Muhl are the main characters who star in the new calendar shot at Pier 59 Studios in New York, and photographed by Kenneth Willardt into their own small worlds full of sparkles and rainbow colors.

   The actress, who recently did some modeling for Missoni's spring ads, looks fabolous in dazzling designs by Gucci, Sportmax, Christian Louboutin, BB Dakota and more.

   Leighton is currently shooting episodes of "Gossip Girl" and has some big screen projects comig up soon. In less than a month premiers "The Roommate", where she partners with Minka Kelly, and in the summer we will see her, along with Selena Gomez, in "Monte Carlo".

   Julia Stiles, who most remember from "10 Things I Hate About You" with Heath Ledger, is the star of Cosmopolitan Mexico's February 2011 issue.
  The actress sizzles on the cover in a skimpy cut-out dress in deep purple and wears more "dark" and sexy designs by Gucci and Ani One in the rest on the photos.

   One of the most talked-about models Crystal Renn is featured in the February 2011 issue of Vogue Germany.

   The "Out of the Blue" editorial may seem like a deja vu since a couple of weeks ago we saw Crystal in a pretty similar denim-centered shoot for Vanity Fair.

   Once again the plus-size-gone-regular model rocks all things denim. She is wearing jeans, shirts and dresses by Levi's, Armani, Stella McCartney, Prada and more.
