Topshop Christmas Lookbook 2010

Not long after H&M's camaign, Topshop has also released a holiday lookbook. It's got many looks and includes a lot of different styles. Most of the current runway trends are embedded  in the collection in wearable and affordable pieces. Everybody could find some chic garnment to put on their wish list. I know I've got my eye on quite a few.

•  Styles: Grunge, Boho Chic, 50's , Rock Chic, Gothic. 

•  Colors: Black, Red, Patels, Brights.

•  Materials & Textures: Leather, Faux Fur, Feathers, Shearling, Knits, Chiffon, Sheers.

•  Key pieces: knee-high socks, black leggings, bulcky coats, chunky knitwear, blazers & short jackets, wide-leg pants, mini skirts & shorts.

How To Store Your Perfumes & My Collection

  Perfumes are something that is worth splurging on. Usually the more expensive a fragrance is, the more long lasting and strong it is therefore you need only the tiniest bit of the magical liquid to smell gorgeous all day long. 
  However, if perfumes aren't stored properly their chemical composition changes, they no longer smell that good, don't last as long, change in color and even begin to evaporate.

To protect your precious scents here is what you shoud do: 

• Keep the packing!

 It's true the bottles are soo pretty and look just perfect on your dressing table, but think twice before tossing their boxes. The volatilization of fragrances is caused by the high content of alcohol. The packing and the lid must be kept in order to protect it from air and sunlight that make it vaporize. 

• Some don't like it hot!

You should keep perfumes away from direct sunlight and high temperature as well, which can prevent the perfume from color change and flavour reversion. If you leave a perfume in direct sunlight during the summer, it will "spoil" in just a few hours and you will be left with a stinky mess with strange color. The best place to store your collection would be somewhere dry and dark. 

• Keep perfumes upside down!

 The perfume evaporates through the pipe because of the constant pressure upon it while the bottle is with the lid up. Keeping the perfume upside down leaves the bottom dry so the pipe's end has no contact with the perfume. This way the liquid can't evaporate through it. 

• Mind the leftovers!

When there is more air than liquid in the bottle the oxidation of the perfume and it's change happen faster. This doesn't mean you have to throw away your scent when it's half full of coarse - the oxidation is a really slow process. What you can do is: when there are just 10-20 ml of liquid left, to keep it fresh,  move it to one of those purse-size bottles with atomizer. In the small bottle the parfume content will be more then the air.

• Keep it clean!

There shuld be no dust or dirt around the atomizer. Clean it up with some alcohol and let it air-dry before putting the bottle back in the box.

American Music Awards 2010: Avril, Nicky Minaj and the Smiths

 Avril is getting ready to release her new album so a good way to do so is looking good on the red carpet. She didn't stand out too much but looked nice in a simple black-and-white strapless dress. The light pink in her hair is not very pretty though. 

 Nicky Minaj once again was one of the boldest artists on the carpet. She looks like a huge pink lobster with golden fishes and emeralds on it's body. And of course she would pair the dress with blond-and-green hair and pink pout. All that said, I think she looks cute and fun.

  

Willow, Jada and Jaden Smith all graced the red carpet, but Will was missing. Jada looked and an Egyptian princess in mustard-colored Emilio Pucci Spring 2011 rise and fall gown with a tiered skirt. Willow, as always wore something unique and made a statement. I love that girl - so bright and full of potential. Her brother looked like a R&B star in slouchy leather pants, leather vest and a hat.

American Music Awards 2010: Fergie and Ke$ha

 The controversial pop singers both changed a couple of times during the awards.


On the red carpet Fregie wore a Zuhair Murad Spring 2010 Couture dress in metallic colors and studs all over. She looked chic but her posing was too much.

She also wore a  a short Falguni & Shane Peacock dress with feathers on the shoulders and bottom part. I think she pulled it off quite successfully and looked glamorous.

While performing Fergie went all out in a skimpy and colorful mini dress that showed off her curves.

Ke$ha stays true to her style (or the lack of one) wearing a wierd black dress that for what I see is made of garbage bags and ductape. Not that I mind recycled dresses, but this one I can't stand, especially amongst so many other elegantly dressed celebs. The hair and makeup render me speechlses.

 And you thought it couldn't get any worse...

On stage she looks almost bearable, but still ...

American Music Awards 2010: Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus

 Taylor and Miley looked pretty on the red carpet, both of them in mini dresses. 


 Taylor, who won the award for Favourite Country Female Artist, wasn't sporting her predictable glittery sweetheart neckline dress and golden curls , but went for a darker, sleeker and more mature looks. Her straightened hair and dark makeup are a winner for me.

Luckily, Miley kept her underwear hidden on the red carpet and looked cute and feminine in a Marchesa Spring 2011 mini dress with big bow on the back.

American Music Awards 2010: Rihanna

 Rihanna was the probably the best performer of the night and rightfully won the Favourite Female Soul/ Rhythm & Blues Artist award.


 She looked gorgeous in all the outfits she wore, but my favourite was her red lacey Elie Saab gown on the red carpet from their 2010 Haute Couture collection. I wasn't a fan of her curly hairstyle though. 

The singer received her award in second Elie Saab gown from the Fall 2010 Couture collection with one sleeve and beautiful dappy details.

While performing Rihanna wore a playful ensemble of black-and-white bra, black bottom and colorful scarf tied around her hips. Big hoops her ears and many bangles matching the scarf completed the look.

American Music Awards 2010: Katy Perry

 Although Katy didn't win any music awards yesterday, she looked very stylish. She wore more than one looks and they were all a nice change from her usual for these days latex outfits.

 She looked romantic and feminine in this Badgley Mischka Spring 2011 strapless dress and matching pumps. Her loose wavy hair and soft makeup completed the look.

Looking adorable with her beloved Justin Bieber in a chic embellished black dress and big fake lashes.

On the stage Katy looked red-hot in skin-tight jumpsuit covered with rhinestones and matching heels.
